Soil Profile and Succession
Since there are so many different types of deserts there is also different types of soils. The soil ranges from pure sand to clay. With this said, most soil in the desert is abundant with nutrients. This is because there is so little water the soil needs to be able to grow vegitation. Succession demostrates stability in the biome because since there is so little water and the soil can be sand in some areas the desert needs durable plants to be able to grow where most couldn't. An example of secondary succesion in the desert is flash flooding. When the desert does recieve rain it is usually flash flooding and wipes out the vegatation. The difference in primary and secondary succession is that primary succesion has no life and no soil, and secondary succession is when some force distrubs the stable life.
